Which commentator's voice did you listen to while growing up as a Formula 1 fan?

That's the easiest way to explain our 'voices of F1' segment on the Inside Line F1 Podcast. In this off-season, we will invite leading commentators & broadcasters (past and present) on our show and bring to you Formula 1 from their lens.

This week, we revisit our talk with Bob Varsha, the 'voice of Formula 1 in America'.

In this episode, Bob shares his journey as a TV broadcaster & how he embarked on it by chance! He reminisces the various races Formula 1 has hosted in America over the years and explains with insights why the United States of America has always been a big prize to catch for Formula 1.

And of course, he ponders over the several false starts that Formula 1 has made over the years and discusses the much-hyped project - the US F1 Team. But what could the future hold for Formula 1 in America? Has Liberty Media seemingly cracked the code? Will the increase in American involvement in the sport add fuel to an already exploding market? Andretti-Sauber & Colton Herta - the two strong rumours doing the rounds these days.

Bob shares his views on the 2021 title battle between Max Verstappen & Lewis Hamilton while also looking back at his fond memories with Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel and others. When asked his 'best driver to interact with', Bob promptly chose Rubens Barrichello over all others. There's also talk about Juan Pablo Montoya, the last driver to succeed in races on both sides of the pond! And finally, Bob shares an advice or two for budding sports broadcasters & commentators.

There are a lot of insights, experiences, anecdotes and memories packed in these 60 mins. Tune in!
