In this episode of Inside Voice, Voice Summit programming and content director, Janice Mandel, speaks with voice pioneer and author, Ann Thyme-Gobbel. Ann is currently the Voice Design Leader at Sound United and co-author of the new book: Voice-First Development: Designing developing, and deploying conversational interfaces. A Swedish native who fell in love with California, Ann put her PhD in Cognitive Science & Linguistics to work as a Voice Design practitioner in the emerging voice community that bonded at Nuance Communications in the early 2000s, and has remained connected throughout the years. Ann has been an invaluable member of the VOICE Summit board and served as one of 22 proposal reviewers . At VOICE, you'll find Ann discussing her new book on the author's panel, teaching a conversational design workshop called "What Users Really Want," and moderating the panel that she named: "Linguists Who Localize: How to succeed in multi-language design and deployment." In this conversation, you'll learn some tips of the trade that help business owners, designers, and developers understand what users really do want -- and will use.
