Iran says it will soon breach agreed limits on stockpiles of enriched uranium. We analyse if increasing tensions between Tehran and Washington, especially after the attacks on oil tankers, which were blamed on Iranian forces, mean a greater risk of conflict. Vast reserves of uranium will have to stay in the ground in Virginia after the US Supreme Court agreed that the state has the right to block mining of the commodity, which is used by the nuclear industry. Mining analyst John Meyer explains how the ban on mining uranium will have little effect on global supplies as there is currently a surplus.
