Their conversation covers Matt’s experience in Iraq as a planner working closely with the Coalition Provisional Authority, as a Marine company commander during the height of the civil war, as a State Department political officer in Afghanistan at the same time that Nate was deployed there, and later as a peace activist in Okinawa.
