Danny Webber is the latest guest on the United We Stand podcast. The former Manchester United, Port Vale, Watford, Sheffield United, Portsmouth, Leeds, Doncaster Rovers and current Accrington Stanley striker meets Andy Mitten in a Manchester bar to talk about his life and career. Webber, 31, talks about refusing to sign for Manchester City, about Sir Alex Ferguson, Nobby Stiles and Brian Kidd. About cleaning Andy Cole’s boots and the highs and many lows in a career which saw him play across the divisions. The Manchester lad remembers Sheffield United’s greasy chip butty and the meltdown at Portsmouth, where they were nervously told, “I’m sorry, you’re not getting your wages.” What nearly happened next would have shocked football. Webber is an entertaining and articulate guest. Enjoy.
