With several foodies and headlines speaking of 'Filipino food revolution', it seems Filipino food's time has finally come in Australia. Unlike other South-East Asian cuisines such as Vietnamese or Thai, Filipino food has been little understood, even though Filipino migrants are Australia's largest South-East Asian migrant group. But for an archipelago nation spanning some 7,000 islands… can there be such a thing as a Filipino cuisine? Grace Guinto and Fides Mae-Santos are here to help. They're co-founders of the Entrée Pinays, a Filipina-Australian women's collective working to raise Australia's literacy about Filipino cuisine and produce.
