The United Nations peacekeeping force in the Democratic Republic of Congo says it will investigate after three protesters were killed during an altercation involving its troops. MONUSCO says the demonstrators were killed after a convoy they were protecting came under attack in the east of the country, where there have been frequent protests against the UN’s military presence. Plus, we hear from South African relief organisation Gift of the Givers, which is providing aid in the wake of the devastating earthquake which has killed more than 11,000 people in Turkey and Syria. And we report from Uganda, where there’s outrage over a wave of arrests targeting government critics and political activists.
