Today’s reading is from the book of James, chapter 1, verses 19 through 21. As we listen, I wonder if God’s Spirit wants to teach me about gentleness today?  19 My dear brothers and sisters, pay attention to what I say. Everyone should be quick to listen. But they should be slow to speak. They should be slow to get angry. 20 Human anger doesn’t produce the holy life God wants. 21 So get rid of everything that is sinful. Get rid of the evil that is all around us. Don’t be too proud to accept the word that is planted in you. It can save you.    Loving God, you are the LORD who is tender and kind. You are gracious. You are slow to get angry. You are faithful, and full of love. You forgive those who do evil, and you came to live and die for those who have turned their backs on you. Fill us with your Spirit so that we, too, can walk in your ways of gentleness, grace, and love. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
