As New York Comic Con begins, Imara celebrates trans nerd culture. First she’s talks with Blu del Barrio about playing Adira Tal, the first non-binary character in the Star Trek franchise. They discuss the way transness can influence an actor’s approach to a role, the power of Star Trek, Discovery’s T4T relationship, and Blu’s hope for non-binary representation in Hollywood. Next, Imara delves into the world of Wonder Woman with Nubia & the Amazons co-writer Stephanie Williams. Stephanie shares her approach to introducing a Black trans Amazon to the comics series and writing a fictional universe where all women are accepted and empowered.
