Summer is upon us, but alas, there is a deadly virus sweeping the nation. Fear not folks, you can stay safely at home and take a road trip with us in your minds on this totally insane ep. Way less gas money, flat tires and dead racoons. We cover the history of America's most beloved highway, Route 66, and the fascinating and dark history of the country's first food critic- Duncan Hiens, who may also be a serial killer.  So throw on some Tom Petty and grab yourself a bag of Munchos and a Banana Quick, it's Life's a Banquet the podcast!

In March, HRN began producing all of our 35 weekly shows from our homes all around the country. It was hard work stepping away from our little recording studio, but we know that you rely on HRN to share resources and important stories from the world of food each week. It’s been a tough year for all of us, but right now HRN is asking for your help. Every dollar that listeners give to HRN provides essential support to keep our mics on. We've got some fresh new thank you gifts available, like our limited edition bandanas.
