Submit Review#TPTWP Royally Recorded this episode shortly after the conclusion of Season 6 of Game of Thrones. The material that tells us the story of both The Tourney at Harrenhal and The Knight of The Laughing Tree, however, can only be found in the source material, specifically A Storm of Swords.
While there are a plethora of clues both large and small that point to Jon Snow being the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, the story of the infamous (and... famous) Tourney at Harrenhal and The Knight of The Laughing Tree were the best source to the romance between The Prince of Dragonstone and The Lady of Winterfell. That is, they were until HBO's adaptation, Game of Thrones, came out and told viewers that R + L = J was both true AND a legit and lawful marriage, making Jon Snow a legit and lawful heir to the Iron Throne.
