We begin with one more Avengers: Endgame update, including our reactions to the critical reception numbers, new box office projections, the record breaking theater count, & of course, how we guess the Academy could receive this film in a post Black Panther landscape. Avengers Box Office/ Critical Reception / More Records - Top of Show (Including is This a Best Picture Contender - 2:17) What is This Episode? - 9:32 The Mikes Have Some Fun Stories About The Top 5 Most Anticipated Movie Events of Their Young Heroic Sexy Lives: 5s: Mike1 - 11:41 AlsoMike - 15:14 4s: Mike1 - 19:20 AlsoMike - 22:04 3s: Mike1 - 27:13 AlsoMike - 30:58 2s: Mike1 - 34:56 AlsoMike - 37:46 1s: Mike1 - 45:05 AlsoMike - 48:14 What’s Next/MMO ASKS (YOUR HOMEWORK) - 53:48 Words of Wisdom/Social Media - 56:16 We’ve loved watching movies since we were young enough to remember loving anything. Both Mikes have shared stories about their film watching & film going lives in the past, but this is a very special Top 5’s episode. For we are counting down the Most Anticipated Movie EVENTS of our young film addicted lives. Yes, we’re dating ourselves in this episode, and we are subject to the films released during our formative years. But this episode does mean a great deal to us, and more importantly, it allows us the chance to ask YOU for your stories as well. So do please send us your top 5’s, top 3’s, top 1’s - tell us the stories that formed your love for film & for the theatrical experience, and we’ll happily share some of your responses on MMOW. There’s no better time for this than now, when we have such a great chance to celebrate the movies with perhaps the event of the year in Avengers: Endgame. And that’s where we begin. This episode was planned for Endgame’s release day in lieu of our 2-3 part review. We had to react to the uproarious critical reception, the enhanced box office projections, eye popping theater count, and of course, we had to weigh in on the early Oscar buzz. That’s the first 8-9 minutes. If you’re just joining us, do check out our full coverage of the Endgame. We’ve already dropped 2 distinct preview episodes. First, we Guessed The Plot. Second, we completed our Dead Pool (no, not that one), where we debate who’ll live or die, and yes, we’ve reviewed ALL the films from the MCU in both a re-watch from last spring, and throughout our 2017-2018 Oscar Sprint Profile & Movie Event film review series. After our beginning with Avengers, it’s storytelling time. We each share 5 pivotal movie going stories to our film fandom. We hit on some game-changing blockbusters, some childhood memories, and in the process, we hope you’ll learn as much about us as we just learned about ourselves. These are personal stories. These are stories that have shaped the film critics we are today, and with a few exceptions, these are truly and thoroughly, joy filled times in our film loving lives. So we hope you enjoy. Stay tuned for our Avengers: Endgame coverage over the weekend & into next week. We’ll have a First Reactions episode for you planned for a Saturday release, and we’re debuting a new show format to do so. Then we’ll review Endgame with a deep dive episode like nothing you’ll be able to get anywhere else. We’ve booked a guest, and we’ve been hard at work to yet again give you a breakdown unique to us. But as always, we want to hear your feedback. Tell us what you think of Endgame, & do please share your most anticipated movie event stories. We’re at MMandOscar on Twitter, and we are on Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and Gmail. You can subscribe / rate / review / like / share / & listen to us on iTunes, Soundcloud, Stitcher, Google Play, Tune In, Spotify, and just about wherever you listen to podcasts. When reality sucks, keep watching movies with us. We’re Mike, Mike, & Oscar!
