The Chicago White Sox split a doubleheader on Tuesday with the Kansas City Royals. The Sox lost the first game but bounced back to win the nightcap. Offense was tough to come by for both games but there were some bright spots. Eloy Jimenez was 3-for-3 in Game 2 and Lenyn Sosa hit his first big league HR. Lance Lynn struggled in his Game 1 outing as he gave up a pair of two-run homeruns. The starter for Game 2 was Davis Martin and he had a nice outing, topping out at 97 mph. The Sox welcomed back relief pitcher , Reynaldo Lopez for Game 2. He was impressive, touching 100 mph with his fastball. The big news of the day was the unfortunate injury to All-Star Tim Anderson. The White Sox announced that he will need surgery to repair a torn ligament on the middle finger of his left hand. He is expected to miss approximately six weeks.
