Submit ReviewAs the co-founder and managing director of the Red Hook Art Project, Davis has dedicated the last 12 years of her life to helping at risk kids in the neighborhood. At any given time the Red Hook Art Project, or RHAP, provides around 50 kids free visual art and music lessons and homework help. Raised in Bed-Stuy by a single mother who was an addict at the peak of the crack epidemic, Davis herself became a mother at just 14. She talks about her childhood and how it's driven her to help her kids and her community break out of the systems and cycles that hold them back.
