After a disastrous performance in the outfield by Aaron Hicks, the Yankees dropped the first game of their pivotal final series of the season against the Rays, but instead of letting that bad game dictate the rest of the weekend, the Yankees came out hitting single after single and knocking Cory Kluber out of Saturday's game before he could even get out of the first. Then on Sunday, the home runs came in bunches (none by Aaron Judge), and the Yankees sent a message to the Rays. They clinched the season series and own the tiebreaker in case they finish the season tied for the AL East lead.
