The Yankees had a successful weekend against the Tigers sweeping their three-game series with a combination of incredible starting pitching, an explosive offense, and a shutdown bullpen. Gerrit Cole and Luis Severino had dominant performances on Friday and Saturday respectively while the offense exploded for 13 runs on Friday night. On Sunday, the Yankees needed extra innings to sweep and Jordan Montgomery didn't get the decision but they finished the series on a high and headed into their well-deserved off-day after an exciting extra-innings walk-off win.
