The New York Yankees are home to face the Blue Jays! Stacey previews the home opener between Marcus Stroman and Yusei Kikuchi and discusses how both teams have done this season. The Blue Jays started out in Tampa, traveled to Houston, and now have to face the Yankees for three games. The Astros no-hit and one-hit them in their series, and it’s the first time that’s happened to a team in their first seven games in the modern era. But as Stacey points out, don’t let that fool you or lull you into thinking the Yankees, who have started the year 6-1, will steamroll them this weekend. Is it possible? Sure, just don’t expect it. Then, Stacey looks at Giancarlo Stanton’s strikeout problem. 2024 is starting off like 2023, and that’s not good. Stacey discusses some numbers and asks, ‘Are there any solutions to this Stanton conundrum?’ It turns out that yes, there are and there are a few of them. The situation isn’t as dire as some people think, and the Yankees have a few options if this continues. And finally, the new shoddily made MLB uniforms have had the spotlight shone upon them, and it’s a problem. The Yankees have even been involved in some of the low moments for those unis. And the A’s will be paying in Sacramento for three seasons. Stacey discusses how that affects them and the rest of MLB, including the Yankees.
