After last year having the worst starting pitching in all of baseball, there's a gleam! The Washington Nationals have a young core building with this team's starting pitching staff that consists of two former first round picks, Mackenzie Gore, and Cade Cavalli. Also, you have Josiah Gray who has some of the nastiest pitches on the team, and if he puts it all together, could be the team's best pitcher on the staff. After inking starting pitcher Trevor Williams to a two year deal last week, the Nationals also have a reliable swingman who can be used as a starter, or even out of the bullpen. Ryan gets into the role he wants out of Trevor Williams, and what he can provide for the Nats moving forward. Is he more reliable out of the bullpen, as well as a spot starter? Also, the Nats signed Jeimer Candelario to a 1 year deal to be the Nationals 1B/3B/DH, an ultra utility guy. WHat should his role be for the future of this team? Lastly, Ryan speaks on the importance of losing hitting coach Kevin Long last offseason, and the wild success he has had with the Philadelphia Phillies.
