Considered to be one of science fiction’s most important authors, Wells contributed to the genre with many notable works: “The Island of Doctor Moreau”, “The Invisible Man”, and “The War of the Worlds”.  In his non-fiction futurologist works, Wells predicted the advent of airplanes, space travel and even Wikipedia – although he called it “Permanent World Encyclopaedia”.
