The New York Yankees dropped the finale at Citi Field to the Mets in a close one. It was an extra innings, walk-off 4-3 victory for the Mets. The Gerrit Cole/Justin Verlander matchup lived up to the hype and was way better than the Sevy/Scherzer debacle on Tuesday night. Both starters lasted six innings and only gave up a run apiece. It came down to the bullpens and the offenses in the latter innings, with the Mets coming out victorious. There were some cool moments in the game for the Yankees on offense, on the bases, and on defense. Plus, what is going on with Aaron Judge? Why is the timeline a mystery? Why does Aaron Boone not know what’s happening? And the Yankees' catching situation has gotten a little better, but it still needs improvement. Options are discussed, and we wonder why the catching needs rank in the list of Yankees wants at the trade deadline.
