She flees into the lexicon.org/place/hogwarts-school-of-witchcraft-and-wizardry/hogwarts-first-floor/girls-bathroom/">girl’s bathroom. There, she is lexicon.org/event/october-31-1991-the-halloween-feast/">attacked by a lexicon.org/creature/large-magical-beasts/trolls/">troll, released by lexicon.org/character/quirinus-quirrell/">Quirrel and lexicon.org/character/lord-voldemort/">Voldemort. In lexicon.org/source/the-harry-potter-novels/cs/">Chamber of Secrets, we meet Moaning Myrtle. Over lexicon.org/event/circa-may-1943-myrtle-a-hogwarts-student-dies-in-a/">fifty years ago, she was bullied by lexicon.org/character/olive-hornby/">Olive Hornby and fled into an other lexicon.org/place/hogwarts-school-of-witchcraft-and-wizardry/hogwarts-second-floor/moaning-myrtles-bathroom/">girl’s bathroom. There, she was attacked by a creature as well. This was the lexicon.org/creature/reptiles-and-amphibians/snake/basilisk/">basilisk, released by lexicon.org/character/riddle-family/tom-riddle/">Tom Riddle, the young Voldemort. Although the troll did not kill Hermione, the similarities between the scenes are fascinating. Hermione and Myrtle have more in common than we – and they – previously thought!
