On today’s show, we’re talking about the Oilers' loss to Vancouver, previewed tonight's Battle of Alberta, looked back at our Christmases, and a whole lot more.
To kick off this week’s Tuesday podcast, we got started with a conversation about the Oilers' spot in the standings, and how their record is identical to where we were at in 2021-22. So how nervous are we about what's happening right now? As we know, the Oilers went on a roll in the back half of the season and we're going to need that exact same output down the stretch. To get to 100 points, the Oilers will have to go 31-16-0, and when you break the math down like that, both Tyler and I are starting to feel a little bit nervous about it. To make matters worse, the Oilers are passing up games that should be "easy" wins but don't end up with any points at all. As a result, Edmonton now finds themselves outside of the playoffs with only 47 games left to play.
