It didn’t include many of the green measures that environmental groups had been pushing for. Climate-friendly dems were accused of “politicizing” the relief package by trying to shoehorn climate into the bill.
But history says this is nothing new. During the 2009 recession, part of Obama’s stimulus was a $90 billion clean energy bill for things like electric grid upgrades and solar projects.
