Submit ReviewMike opens the show by sharing some exciting amazing news, The Small Business Bootcamp is finally taking off. To celebrate this launch, tonight on the show they have an amazing guest, Andrew Calderella.
Andrew was born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1966 to parents fighting for the civil rights movement. His life is a combination of The Rocky Story, Think and Grow Rich, & The Celestine Prophecy on steroids! He has been through so many harrowing and intense situations that those stories alone could fill volumes. He has overcome dyslexia, other learning disabilities, being legally blind in one eye, and being bullied to become a school leader, athlete, and attain university degrees in Speech & Communications, Religious Studies, and Eastern Philosophy.
He has lived overseas, traveled the world, is a martial artist, yogi, and what many call a health and fitness fanatic. He is a serial entrepreneur and has run a successful strategic consulting firm for over 20 years. He is the creator of The 7th Foundation & One Movement and the bestselling author of The Way, 7 Revolutionary Steps to Living a Meaningful Life & Making a Real Difference in the World. He is an inspirational speaker, trainer, and coach who specializes in helping athletes, entertainers, entrepreneurs, executives, and other leaders to become their best in all areas of life while making a more significant positive impact on our world.
Mike asks Andrew how he overcomes his learning disability - dyslexia. Andrew says he just learns how to compensate for it. What society has negatively labeled as “Learning Disabilities” are really just “Learning Differences” and alternative ways of thinking that often come with great gifts.
Then he shares what inspires him to write the book The Way is his experience as a kid, all the trauma and trials in life, and how to overcome these challenges and to be the best people we can be, to be happy. What he found is you need to find a firm foundation in all these areas so if you want to be the best version of yourself. How we can be on the same page and how this foundation of life joins together to make changes in our society we all truly want.
Then they talked about how the book changed Andrew's life after the publication of his book.
The golden rule: treat others the way you want to be treated. Respect life, all people are equal, and treat other people the way you want to be treated. These three alone can solve our problems.
Then Andrew discusses how these principles can help with the division. He points out that we are not divided. People are just misled and uneducated. Violence will never lead to peace.
Torya then asks Andrew if he thinks it starts with only 1 person making the change in their mindset or a group of people making a real movement for it.
Andrew then talked about how One Movement works.
