Part 2 of Rachel's discussion with author, tech executive, and ex-Scientologist Nathan Rich. After leaving the Ranch and getting kicked out of a "Studytech" academy, Nathan was sent to a secular school. With the help of a smart and devoted teacher, he began to excel academically and enjoy school. His mother, unfortunately, pulled him away from that school and a teacher who had been so pivotal in his life. Nathan decided at that point to get away by joining Scientology's "Sea Org", where people have to sign billion year contracts. Things quickly devolved and he was sent, kicking and screaming, back to the infamous Mace Kingsley Ranch.
