The Devils have resigned their backup goalie, Scott Wedgewood, to a one year extension. This is also a two-way deal, so he will spend some time in the AHL system. Given the contract situation, the Devils fully anticipate for him to become a third string netminder. Also, this gives the Devils a goalie to expose in this year's expansion draft for the Seattle Kraken. So, this could make things a little more interesting.
