Leonard Lake was greatly influenced by a book titled The Collector where a man abducts a woman to keep forever as a sex slave. The book was fictional but when Leonard Lake met Charles Ng they discussed abducting, enslaving and torturing women. They called their plan Operation Miranda. Matthew Rosvally is the director of The Miranda Murders: Lost Tapes of Leonard Lake and Charles Ng. His film depicts the horrible acts committed in Northern California in the mid 80s, caught on film by the notorious killers themselves and recreated in an accurate linear fashion.
