But that makes sense because it is all about sinking into the powers of rest and retreat, both during the season of Winter, and during the periods of our life when we are forced to "winter," or go into a state of disconnection, shame, and isolation from the world around us. These periods could include a struggle with mental health, the loss of a loved one or job or friendship, infertility or pregnancy loss, a diagnosis, and so much more. Danielle and Amy share their own thoughts about times when they have "wintered," how these periods help us become more compassionate humans, and how cultures around the world celebrate the cold and darkness rather than wish it away. An individual does not have to have read the book Wintering to appreciate this episode. However, it is a fabulous work and we highly recommend it.
