This is a story from Panchatantra about two friends- a lion and a dog. The lion does not get enough food and is hungry and weak. The dog, on the other hand, is very well fed. The lion asks the dog how he is able to stay hale and hearty, and the dog replies that his master gives him food three times a day. Upon listening to this, the lion replies that it is better to stay free and hungry rather than be well fed and serve a master. The moral of this story is that there is no price for freedom.
