Friday's show was all about why the Lakers should hire Darvin Ham, and someone must be listening. Friday evening, news broke that the Lakers have agreed to a four year contract with the former role player and long time NBA assistant to be their next head coach. The news was met with excitement from LeBron James, who tweeted out his support. Similar messages will undoubtedly be coming through the holiday weekend.

It's a good move for the Lakers, who had an efficient, well run process leading them to a solid result. They learned some lessons, apparently, by giving Ham a fourth year, and while no dollar figures are yet available, it seems unlikely LA skimped there, either.

Ham will now fill out his coaching staff, which shouldn't be hard given the respect he garners, and then Rob Pelinka will need to give Ham a team that can win games. That's a much tougher task.

But for now, it's good news, Lakers fans!
