We’ve dedicated individual episodes to performances by Cesar Romero, Jack Nicholson, Mark Hamill, Heath Ledger, Jared Leto, and of course, Joaquin Phoenix & the new Joker film from WB. To begin, we did a full episode on the origins, history, and timeline of the Joker Character. Then we also did an It Chapter Two crossover show, including a history of evil clowns in entertainment & in real life, and our pitch for the (hopefully) upcoming Joker vs Pennywise film in 2035. Today’s Award Show is a culmination of those 8 Joker Character Study episodes, which is what we have done for all of our series thus far. Last year at this time, we were completing our Halloween / Michael Myers re-watch. This past summer, we completed The Films of Pixar and our Tarantino Series, and we’ve also done the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Mission Impossibles, and Conjuring CU. So as we’ve done before, this awards show is equal parts nonsense & serious categories. Though for a welcome change, this episode seemed to format itself with how we conducted The Joker Character Study. There’s a non-spoiler section first that covers best hair, make-up, most iconic look, most innovative look, best laugh, most surprising behind the scenes revelation about how they got into character, and best acting performance before we rank our favorite Jokers. Then in spoilers, we dive into the most memorable quotes, actions, best Joker joker, most evil deed, and we finish the episode with our favorite Joker films.
