General Ward was the inaugural commander of the U.S. Africa Command and has four decades of military experience, serving in Korea, Egypt, Somalia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Israel, Palestine, and Germany. General Ward shares his thoughts on the forced migration crisis in Africa, the security challenges in the Horn of Africa, and the rising influence of China in Africa.
