Cofounded in January 2015 as a direct-to-consumer brand by Noura Sakkijha, who serves as CEO, and her husband Majed Masad, who is the company’s COO, Mejuri flipped the script on the jewelry business model by eliminating the traditional markup and introducing a new way to position jewelry: as everyday luxury that women can buy for themselves.

As a brand built on the power of community and showcasing user-generated content, you’ve likely seen Mejuri all over Instagram, especially items from its iconic “Croissant” collection.

I chatted with Noura about Mejuri’s latest campaign, Golden Together, which features “Golden Moments”, a seven-part interview series highlighting women like Jenna Lyons and Annie Murphy (of Schitt’s Creek fame!), the power of listening to your inner voice when it comes to disrupting a traditional industry, and her advice for fellow aspiring founders thinking of taking that risk.
