In May of 1846, a group of 80-something pioneers set out for California and a new start. The problem is, some con man with an agenda had convinced these folks that he had a shortcut. Along with pretty much every other mishap that you can imagine, this shortcut ended up costing almost half the members of the infamous Donner party their lives. This week, Emily and Sara tell the story of just how one group of people can end up completely f*cked from every direction.
