The Carolina Panthers might've restored their playoff hopes with a decisive 37-23 win over Detroit on Christmas Eve but it came at a cost as Jaycee Horn fractured his wrist in the win. Panthers interim head coach Steve Wilks announced on Monday that Horn would have surgery on his wrist on Tuesday without providing any details on whether Horn could return this season. In response, the Panthers brought in former All-Pro Josh Norman for a workout with the expectation that he will sign.
What should the realistic expectations for Norman be? Can Norman help propel the Panthers to the playoffs as he did in 2014?
According to ESPN's Football Power Index, the Panthers have a 30.6% chance to be NFC South champions. Simply, if Carolina wins its two remaining games at Tampa, on Sunday, then the following week at New Orleans they'll be the division's lone representative in the playoffs.
