It's morning again. I marched down the stairs as usual I start with coffee. I prefer a hot breakfast usually with bacon and eggs on toast. And then it hit me, every one of these items cost more than just a few years ago. Of course inflation is the blame but that’s not the whole story. As Mike Ashton, a researcher and financial advisor known as the Inflation guy explains to 5 Things Sunday Host James Brown, our food supply has gone through a series of unfortunate events on top of inflation and the COVID-19 pandemic.

He begins by explaining something you may have seen or suspected that containers and boxes are getting smaller even when the price is the same. It's known as shrinkflation.
