THE TRUE CASE THIS STORY IS BASED ON: On October 10, 34-year-old Robert Owens was found nearly naked and face down on a lawn in China Grove, North Carolina. He had last been seen by family two days earlier, but his body went unnoticed, even by a groundskeeper who mistook it for a police training dummy. Owens' family is seeking answers about his death, as police do not suspect foul play, despite defensive marks on his arms and missing personal belongings. Owens had a history of drug use, but it's unclear if this played a role. The family is frustrated with the police's handling of the case and is awaiting toxicology results to determine the cause of death, hoping for closure and justice.
