Well, the ghost of Annie Moore, the first immigrant through Ellis Island in January 1892. There are parallels and shadows of Annie’s story in so many immigrant stories, including Maeve’s. Like, Annie married a German man who worked in a bakery, and Maeve’s favorite place to meet guys is in bakeries.
