Based on Simon Rich’s 2013 short story “Sell Out”, An American Pickle is the first original film released by the streaming service HBO Max. Directed by Brandon Trost (in his solo directorial debut) and written by Simon Rich, An American Pickle is the comedy-drama film starring Seth Rogen in dual roles.
