Originally pitched as a potential film trilogy, things were delayed and changed as Disney began the process of acquiring production company 20th Century Fox. After facing many delays from its original April 2018 date, The New Mutants finally got its theatrical release. Directed by Josh Boone, The New Mutants is the thirteenth and final instalment in the X-Men film series – a horror superhero film based on the Marvel Comics team of the same name. Five teenage mutants – Mirage, Wolfsbane, Cannonball, Sunspot, and Magik – undergo treatments at a secret institution that will cure them of their dangerous powers.
