We don’t get Eurovision Song Contest 2020 this year, but fortunately Netflix has given us Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga. Directed by David Dobkin and written by Andrew Steele and Will Ferrell, Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga is the musical comedy film which celebrates the annual international song competition through a fictional story about two Icelandic singers. Two small-town singers Lars Erickssong (Will Ferrell) and Sigrit Erricksdóttir (Rachel McAdams) are given the chance to chase their pop star dreams and represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest – the global music competition, where scheming rivals, high stakes and onstage mishaps test their bond. As Fire Saga, Lars and Sigrit face competion against a flamboyant Russian singer (Dan Stevens), and must contend with Lars’s disapproving widowed father (Pierce Brosnan).
