If this movie was made with less capable hands, it very easily could have been called It: You’ll Float 2. But with the critical and financial success of Chapter One, It: Chapter Two looked to give a satisfying conclusion and completed adaption of Stephen King’s 1986 novel.
Directed by Andy Muschietti and written by Gary Dauberman, It: Chapter Two is set 27 years after the events depicted in Chapter One. The adult versions of the Losers’ Club face off against It once again, with flashbacks featuring the younger cast from the first movie.
Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard) has resurfaced! Mike (Isaiah Mustafa), who never left, calls the other members of the Losers – Bill (James McAvoy), Beverly (Jessica Chastain), Ben (Jay Ryan), Richie (Bill Hader), Eddie (James Ransone), and Stanley (Andy Bean) – back to Derry. Although disturbed by the phone calls, all of them are amnesiac about their childhoods, but reluctantly agree to return. Well… almost all of them.
Now adults, having gone their separate ways, and damaged by scars from the past, the Losers must reunite and conquer their deepest fears to destroy the It once and for all.
