In other markets it may be known as The Curse of La Llorona, but it our region we watched The Curse of the Weeping Woman. Directed by Michael Chaves in his directorial debut, The Curse of the Weeping Woman is the sixth instalment in The Conjuring Universe – not a spin-off but does feature the character of Father Perez (Tony Amendola) from Annabelle. Based on the Mexican folklore of La Llorona, the movie follows Anna Tate-Garcia (Linda Cardellini) in Los Angeles in 1973 who must save her children, Chris and Samantha (Roman Christou and Jaynee-Lynne Kinchen) from a ghost who is trying to steal them away.
