Just say the word! The seventh installment in the DC Extended Universe and the first live-action film version of the DC Comics character Captain Marvel since 1941, Shazam! is directed by David F. Sandberg and continues the new direction for DC films. 14-year-old Billy Batson (Asher Angel) is summoned by the wizard Shazam at the Rock of Eternity and given the ability to transform into an adult-sized superhero (Zachary Levi) by saying the wizard’s name “Shazam”. Meanwhile, Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong) frees the Seven Deadly Sins: Pride, Greed, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Wrath, and Sloth, allowing them to use his body as a vessel to escape. Sivana then attempts to take down Billy, who the wizard Shazam has declared as being the new “Champion of Eternity”. With the help of his new foster family, especially Freddy (Jack Dylan), Billy begins to learn the full extent of his superpowers.
