Director Adam Robitel takes us on a thrill ride based on the concept of “Escape Rooms” in a movie with the very appropriate title – Escape Room. It may not be the first time a movie was based on people trying to escape a room, but this movie comes with a big budget and a big blockbuster feel as well. Six strangers (Taylor Russell, Logan Miller, Deborah Ann Woll, Tyler Labine, Jay Ellis, Nik Donani) receive invitations to participate in a new and so far unbeatable Escape Room for the chance of winning $10,000. They find themselves in a maze of deadly and mysterious rooms, and must use their wits to survive the very real threats of each room.
