Sony promised us more Spider-Man movies outside of the MCU. Now we have this animated entry set in a shared multiverse called the “Spider-Verse”. Directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse follows Brooklyn teenager Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) after he is bitten by a radioactive spider and suddenly develops mysterious powers not unlike those of Spider-Man. Meeting Peter Parker in a secret laboratory where notorious crime lord Wilson Fisk (Liev Schreiber) has built a particle accelerator to access parallel universes, Miles discovers that there are many others who share his special abilities. Miles must now use his newfound skills with the help of different versions of Spider-People to take down the evil Kingpin before he destroys New York City.
