In 2015, the Rocky franchise was rejuvenated with the spin-off (sort of sequel) film, start of a new franchise, Creed. Steven Caple Jr. takes over as director following Ryan Coogler’s amazing efforts with the first Creed film. Michael B. Jordan is back as Adonis Creed, as is Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashād, and of course Rocky Balboa himself - Sylvester Stallone. In 1985, Russian boxer Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren) killed former U.S. champion Apollo Creed in a tragic match that stunned the world. Against the wishes of trainer Rocky, Apollo's son Adonis accepts a challenge from Drago's son -- Viktor Drago. Under guidance from Rocky, Adonis trains for the showdown of his life -- a date with destiny that soon becomes his obsession.
