Inspired by true events involving the Winchester Mystery House, the Spierig Brother’s directed supernatural horror Winchester, follows Sarah Winchester (Helen Mirren) as she is haunted by spirits inside her San Jose mansion in 1906. The Mystery House – said to be the most haunted house in the world – is under constant construction and ever expanding. Thanks to Anarchy PR, we were treated to a preview screening of the movie. After the death of her husband, Sarah inherited nearly fifty percent ownership of the Winchester Repeating Arms company. The company hires Doctor Eric Price (Jason Clarke) to assess Sarah, believing she is mentally unfit to remain in charge of the company. Sarah Winchester believes she is cursed by the ghosts of those who died at the hands of Winchester firearms. With Price invited to stay at the house we find out if Sarah is crazy or if the Winchester house is truly haunted.
