Greetings, Heathens! Please continue to be safe, wear your mask, and social distance when possible. We are not out of the woods yet! In today’s episode, it’s the dynamic duo once again, Vi La Bianca and Eric Murphy!Let’s get to calls. The first caller is returning caller Hadi from North Carolina. Continuing the conversation from previous calls, where we spoke and asked questions about the nature of truth; this time we question the afterlife and religious promises. The answer is 42, btw.Next up, Vera from Colorado calls about her 2 cents on theism. She definitely seems to be close to the edge of deconversion! Eric gives Vera a challenge, try to see if you can find a purpose for yourself and your life without pinning it on God. Hermer is up next, calling about prophecy and how it relates in today’s world. He also incorrectly stattes Revelation was written before Christ…except it wasn’t. Hermer is fascinating, and he lets us know that Vi is an atheist sorcerer!Kendall calls back, continuing a conversation about objective morality and personal preference. He moves on to ask if God was true, would we repent? Kendall goes on to say, all that needs to be proven that God is omnipresent, is to prove God. Kendall, well, we are waiting for this proof…will it come in hula hoop form?We have a first time caller, and he is a theist! He also claims to have a copyright on the Bible. Um, ok… Joe from Oklahoma also seems to be a presup (aka: presuppositional apologist). Whew, this one is a live one!Next up, Aaron in Texas wonders when we figured out morality in our evolutionary timeline, how and when did we figure out that individual suffering was bad for our species. WEAR A MASK! Thanks for tuning in! Please be safe and healthy out there, we appreciate you and when the pandemic/quarantine is lifted, we love to see you all in person at the library!
