When it comes to losses for Arizona State Sun Devils football, you'd be hard-pressed to find one as crushing and as devastating as what the team suffered this past weekend against the Fresno State Bulldogs football program. There were next to no positives in a game that saw the Sun Devis commit eight turnovers, lose the time of possession battle by ~15 minutes, and flat-out get shut out at home. It felt as though the lone bright spot for the team was on defense where Brian Ward coached the guys into six sacks and gave up just two touchdowns in a 29-0 loss. Kenny Dillingham says a lot of work needs to be done offensively, including shoring up the quarterback spot that will be without Jaden Rashada for four to six weeks. Trenton Bourguet, Drew Pyne, and Jacob Conover all saw time on the field and none of them looked great. Perhaps the biggest and only takeaway here was that this is year zero of the rebuild of Arizona State Sun Devils football.
